9.30.18 – Who Is Jesus? Part 2

  1. Before you meet with your Growth Group this week take 10 to 15 minutes to read the entire 15th chapter of I Corinthians (I Corinthians 15).
  2. Whether you are a half-full or half-empty person in your approach to life, we all get discouraged at times in this journey we call life. What things do you find trigger discouragement for you? What things help you battle discouragement? What provides encouragement for you?
  3. Read together I Corinthians 15:1-7. What does the Apostle Paul establish to his listeners in these seven verses?
  4. Paul said in verse 5, ‘what I received I passed on to you as of first importance…’.
    1. Share with your group the first time you remember receiving the Gospel (Good News).
    2. What is Paul referring to when he says, ‘first importance’?
    3. Who have you tried to pass this Gospel on to?
  5. Read I Corinthians 15:17-19.  How might these few verses help you to have a conversation or dialogue with someone who struggles with faith in Jesus or answer the question ‘Who is Jesus to you?’
  6. Read I Corinthians 15:35-36. Discuss as a group Paul’s analogy of a ‘dead’ seed planted in the ground producing ‘life’. Brainstorm as a group principles of this analogy and how it can help us grow in our faith.
  7. Read I Corinthians 15:51-58. In what ways do these verses encourage you?
