Group Questions: Faith First

  1. What decisions have you made or would have made had you had hindsight or know what you know now?
  2. What makes faith hard or what do you find are some obstacles to your faith or people’s faith?
  3. Do you know anyone who quit on their faith?  What factors do you think led them to that decision?
  4. What do you think helps or makes it possible to have faith?
  5. Read Hebrews 11:1-2.  What is author’s definition of faith?  What was the result of the faith for the people of long ago?  Think of people in your life that have exhibited faith to you.  What is their reputation?
  6. Hebrews 11:3-12 describes and gives examples of people in the Bible who had faith.  Read Hebrews 11:13-15.  What was the result of their faith?  How does this impact your view of faith? 
  7. Read Hebrews 11:22; 24-26; 35-38 for a few examples of faith.  What do these  examples tell us about our faith?  How does this encourage or discourage about your faith moving forward?
  8. Read Hebrews 11:39-40.  This passage seems to indicate that our faith isn’t just about us.  How is our faith supposed to work, integrate, and impact others?
  9. Finally, read 2 Corinthians 13:5 and Luke 22:32.  What is the goal of our faith?
  10. Pray for one another.
